Art therapy is an established profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance well-being of individuals of all ages. Art therapy integrates the fields of human development, visual art, and the creative process with models of counseling and psychotherapy.

Carly Sullens, ATR, has a masters degree in art therapy and has a private art therapy practice in Orlando, FL. Carly is also trained to be a Birthing From Within childbirth educator and Birthing From Within Doula. In addition, Carly is a professional artist. Her subject matters surround images of women, the spiritual realm, and the beauty of life. She has been inspired to teach childbirth classes and provide doula services by mothering her two children.

Birthing From Within is a comprehensive, holistic approach that addresses the medical, cultural, emotional and spiritual aspects of childbirth. Classes support any birthing option parents may choose and are based on the innovative book and childbirth approach, "Birthing From Within" developed by Pam England.

A doula is a women experienced in supporting mothers in childbirth. She provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to the mother, and her partner/family, before birth, during birth and postpartum.

A passageway is the point of exiting and entering giving access to different channels, roads or parts. A rite of passage is a noteworthy ritual of change in an individuals life. Such as pregnancy, birth and entering parenthood.

The passageway is a brief pivotal place where the journeyer can rest, regroup, as well as reflect and the journey thus far and the journey ahead.

Mentorship begins with compassion for the changes and guidance for the transitions. It is in offering Art Therapy group and individual sessions, Birthing From Within childbirth preparation classes, and doula services, that this passageway can be a nurturing, comforting, and mentoring place.
